Health Ministry launches Measles-Rubella Vaccine (MR) Campaign
With an aim to eradicate Measles and Rubella from India. The Union Health Ministry on 5th February launched Measles- Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign in Bengaluru, targeting 41 crore children in India. After the campaign the MR vaccine will be introduced in routine immunisation, replacing the two doses of measles vaccine given to children at 9`12 months and 16-24 months of age.


Sasikala Natarajan to take over as Tamil Nadu CM
AIADMK legislators on 5th February elected General Secretary V.K. Sasikala as leader of their legislature party, paving the way for her to become Tamil Nadu’s third woman Chief Minister. According to AIADMK sources, Sasikala’s name as the legislature party leader was proposed by Panneerselvam and seconded by other MLAs.


Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) launched in Assam
In a move to bring about paradigm shift towards holistic development of villages, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched the Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) in Guwahati. This Scheme is a mega mission with a financial outlay of Rs.30,000 crore and it will be implemented in all the village the state.


2% reservation to sports persons in Govt Jobs CM. Raghubar Das
Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on 6th February said the state will give two percent reservation to sports persons in government jobs and nutritious food to them. Mr.Das said to promote football, Kamal Clubs are being set up and for this the government would give kits to players and competitors would be held at mandal black, district and state.Previously 2% reservation was given in police department. The CM said that the state Govt is committed to promote sports persons on national and international level.


Telangana launches India’s first social innovations hub
The Telangana government has launched India’s first Social innovation center. The Kakatiya Hab for Social Innovation in Nizamabad. This hub was funded by the Telangana Govt and implemented through Kakatiya Sandbox will function like a rural incubator to encourage entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. The rural incubator in Telangana will be run exactly in the same as any other high-end incubator like the T-Hub, the country’s biggest, located in Hyderabad.
