Ravichandran Ashwin became fastest Indian to reach 150 test wickets

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on 6 November 2015 became the fastest Indian to reach 150 wickets in the Indian test cricket history. He achieved this in the first innings of the first test against South Africa in Mohali, Punjab. Ashwin also became the first bowler in over 100 years to take 50 wickets after opening the bowling.


BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test-fired by Indian Army in Rajasthan

Indian Army on 7 November 2015 successfully test-fired the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile at the Pokhran Test Range in Rajasthan. It was launched from an Autonomous Mobile Launcher (AML). For BrahMos, it was the 50th test-flight. It is capable of carrying a conventional and nuclear warhead of 300 kg. It can be launched from land, Sea, Sub-seas and air.


India-Russia Joint Military Exercise Indra-2015 held in Rajasthan

The seventh edition India-Russia Joint Military Exercise ‘Indra-2015’ has been held from 7-20 November 2015 in Bikaner district of Rajasthan. This edition of exercise focused on ‘Counter Terrorism Operations in Desert Terrain under a United Nations Mandate’. This joint exercise will engage in variety of joint missions including joint planning, Search and Rescue, Cordon and Search operations, special arms skills and joint tactical drills. The bilateral exercise seeks to further boost people to people as well as military to military ties between India and Russia.
