31st meeting of Central Hindi Committee concluded
31st meeting of the Central Hindi Committee was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In his address, the Prime Minister congratulated all the members of the committee for creative and practical suggestions.


SBI Mutual Fund appoints Ashwani Bhatia as CEO
SBI Mutual Fund said it has appointed Ashwani Bhatia as its managing director and chief executive officer. Bhatia takes over from Anuradha Rao, who now returns to State Bank of India (SBI) as deputy managing director. Before joining SBI Mutual Funds, he was in charge of revamping the entire credit structure and processes of SBI.


Twitter India Director Taranjeet Singh quits
Taranjeet Singh, who was elevated as Twitter’s Country Director for India has quit the company. He worked for Twitter India for close to four years. Balaji Krish, Twitter’s Global Head of Revenue Strategy and Operations, will become the interim country head.


India and US hold 2 + 2 dialogue
Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and Minister of Defence Nirmala Sitharaman welcomed Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo and Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis to India for the inaugural India-U.S. Ministerial 2+2 Dialogue.


Aishwarya to receive Meryl Streep award for excellence
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to add another feather to her already loaded cap. The former Miss World will be bestowed with the inaugural Meryl Streep Award for Excellence at the first Women in Film and Television (WIFT) India Award.


Book on ‘Experiential Learning – Gandhiji’s Nai Talim’ launched
A book named ‘Experiential Learning – Gandhiji’s Nai Talim’ (basic education) was released by Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar, on the occasion of National Teachers’ Day. It contains basic principles of Gandhi’s ‘Nai Talim’, along with the work and education curriculum for schools, D.Ed, B.Ed and faculty development programmes for teachers.


Airtel Payments Bank enables card-less cash withdrawal at ATMs
Airtel Payment Bank, India’s first payments bank, has announced that its customers can now make card-less cash withdrawals at over 100,000 ATMs across India. The technology can be used for self-withdrawal or for sending money to an intended recipient for ATM cash withdrawal. IMT is the largest cardless cash ATM network in the world.


Divyansh and Shreya won bronze in shooting
Divyansh Singh Panwar and Shreya Agarwal won bronze medal in the 10m air rifle mixed team junior event at ISSF World Championships. The championship is the first qualifying event for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
