Pakistan’s new Parliament sworn in

Fourteen years after his last stint as a parliamentarian, Prime Minister-designate Nawaz Sharif  1st June 2013 returned to Pakistan’s National Assembly, taking oath with other lawmakers in the first democratic transition of power in the country’s 66-year history. Sahrif along with the parliamentarians was administered the oath by outgoing National Assembly Speaker Fehmida Mirza .


Justice Kaul takes oath as new CJ of Punjab & Haryana high court

On 1st June 2013,Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul took oath as the new Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Chindigarh. Justice Kaul was administered the oath of office by Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia at a ceremony held at Haryana Raj Bhavan. Justice Kaul, 54, earlier served as the senior most judge of the Delhi High Court and was the acting Chief Justice there in September last year.


IPL Chairman Resigned 

On 1st June 2013,Rajiv Shukla resigned as the Chairman of the Indian Premiere League. He said he has decided to quit in the wake of recent controversies in the IPL Spot Fixing Scandal.


Ravindra Reddy suspended from cabinet

On 1st June 2013, the health Minister D.L.Ravindra Reddy is suspended from cabinet due to making statements repeatedly against the Chief Minister in the media. Govenor approved the DL Ravindra Reddy suspension.


K.V. Rao new Director of HPCL

On 1st June HPCL Executive Director (Corporate Finance) K.V. Rao assumed charge as Director (Finance).The post fell vacant following retirement of B. Mukherjee. A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Mr. Rao has wide exposure to the petroleum industry spanning over 31 years in the areas of corporate finance, treasury management, internal audit and marketing and refinery finance.


Jagmohan Dalmiya is new Interim President of BCC

On 1 June Cricket Association of Bengal president Jagmohan Dalmiya , a former president of the BCCI and ICC, has been appointed as the new interim president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).


Narayana Murthy Re-elected as Executive Chairman in Infosys 

On 1 May NR Narayana Murthy has been re-elected as Executive Executive Chairman of the Board in Infosys. He would serve as board chairman for 5 years.Narayan Murthy was appointed as the chairman for the second time. Murthy, who founded Infosys in 1981, had stepped down from the Board and became Chairman Emeritus in 2011. He has served as company’s CEO from 1981 to 2002.
