S Varadarajan Appointed as BPCL’s Chairman and Managing Director
S. Varadarajan, Director-Finance has been appointed on 1 October as chairman and managing director (CMD) of Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (BPCL).He will replace R. K. Singh when he superannuates on September 30. Mr. Varadarajan will be the Chairman and Managing Director of BPCL till his superannuation at the end of September 2016.
Ranjan Mathai Appointed as new High Commissioner To UK
Former Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai on 1 October has been appointed as country’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.A 1974-batch IFS officer, Mathai, who retired as Foreign Secretary on July 31 this year, will succeed Jaimini Bhagwati.Ranjan Mathai joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1974 and has served in Indian embassies in Vienna, Colombo, Washington, Tehran and Brussels.
