Apurvi Chandela Won Bronze In ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup

Commonwealth Games gold medal winning Indian shooter Apurvi Chandela won Bronze medal in the 10-metre air rifle event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Rifle and Pistol World Cup on 11 April in Changwon, South Korea.  She won the bronze after she shot score of 185.6 in the qualifying fifth final round. With this win, Apurvi Chandela has qualified for the 2016 Olympics, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is the second Indian shooter to bag an Olympic quota place after Commonwealth and Asian Games gold medallist Jitu Rai.


Seoul Succeeds In WWF’s Earth Hour City Challenge 2015

Seoul city, the capital and largest metropolis of South Korea, was awarded the title of Global Earth hour Capital 2015 after it won the Earth Hour City Challenge (EHCC) of World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Total 163 cities from 16 countries participated. The city of Balikpapan, Indonesia was recognized as the Most Loveable City for 2015 and Thane city was named as the National Earth Hour Capital 2015 of India.


India Designated As Chair To The Ninth Meeting of IRENA in Abu Dhabi

India has been designated as Chair to the Ninth Meeting of International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Council which is scheduled to be held on 10-11 June 2015 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).India will chair the meeting of the 21 member council, which will guide the agency’s future programmes and activities and helps set the agenda for the meeting of the annual Assembly to be held in January 2016.
