Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launched ‘Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna’ on the birth anniversary of Jaiprakash Narain(JP). The programme is an ambitious village development project under which each Member of Parliament will take the responsibility for developing physical and institutional infrastructure in three villages by 2019.


Gujarat Govt Sets Up Special Purpose Vehicle  To Promote Vadodara As State’s Cultural Capital

Gujarat government has set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) known as Vadodara International Art and Culture Festival Authority to promote Vadodara as the state’s cultural capital and encourage tourism in the city. Gujarat government also decided to hold a bi-annual Vadodara International Art and Culture Festival (VADFEST) in January 2015 to promote tourism.


 IMF Revised India’s 2014 GDP Growth Projection Upwards To 5.6%

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised India’s 2014 GDP growth projection marginally upwards to 5.6% from its July forecast of 5.4%. Corresponding growth rates for GDP at factor cost are 4.5%, 4.7%, 5.6%, and 6.4% for 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2015/16, respectively.


Union Health Minister Launched National Mental Health Policy of India

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan released India’s National Mental Health Policy. Union Government had constituted a Policy Group on Mental Health in April 2011 and based on its recommendations this policy was made. It pushes for decriminalisation of attempted suicide and holistic treatment of mental illnesses.Objectives of new policy are to reduce stigma associated with mental health problems and enhance availability and equitable distribution of skilled human resources for mental health.


India and UK Government Launched UK-India Financial Partnership

UK-India Financial Partnership was launched by India and the UK government aimed to strengthen Links Between the Financial Services Industries. This decision was taken at the seventh UK-India Economic and Financial Dialogue earlier in July by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne.
