Legendary Mahabharat Director Ravi Chopra Died

Legendary filmmaker and director of popular television serial Mahabharat, Ravi Chopra died at the age of 68 years on 12 November in Mumbai. He started his career assisting his father B R Chopra in films like, Dastaan (1972) and Dhund (1973). He also assisted his uncle Yash Chopra in Ittefaq (1969). He made his independent directorial debut with Zameer (1975), produced under the family banner, B.R. Films. He was also the first Bollywood filmmaker who was taken to the court by a Hollywood company over the remaking of a film. In 2009, 20th Century Fox had served a legal notice to Ravi Chopra and his production company B R Films over remaking of the 1992 Oscar Award winning comedy film My Cousin Vinny into Bollywood film Banda Ye Bindaas Hai. Fox sought 1.4 million US dollars in damages.


Flipkart Appointed Rishi Vasudev and P Balakrishnan As Vice President

The largest online retailer of India Flipkart on 12 November appointed two new members Rishi Vasudev and P Balakrishnan as Vice President. Rishi Vasudev joined as the new Vice President Fashion (Retail), while Parameswaran Balakrishnan will head the organisation as Vice President HR for supply chain.


Devendra Fadnavis Govt Won Trust Vote In Maharashtra Assembly

Devendra Fadnavis led BJP Government won the trust vote in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly through voice vote on 12 November. The decision of voice vote was made by newly elected speaker Haribhau Bagde.


Public Service Broadcasting Day Observed On 12 November

Public Service Broadcasting Day was observed across India on 12 November 2014. The day is observed in remembrance of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to All India Radio studio in Delhi for the first and last time. Mahatma Gandhi on 12 November 1947 visited the studio of All India Radio to address those people (refugees from Pakistan) who were temporarily settled in Kurukshetra after partition.All India Radio, New Delhi organised a function in its premise to mark the day.
