India and Sri Lanka Signed Four Agreements

India and Sri Lanka on 13 March signed four agreements, including on cooperation in customs, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena in Colombo. The agreements are for exemption from visa for holders of diplomatic passports, cooperation in mutual assistance in customs, an MoU for youth development, and another for establishing a Rabindranath Tagore museum at a Sri Lanka university.


Dr. Alka Beotra Becomes Member of the Executive Board of WAADS

Dr. Alka Beotra, Scientific Director, National Dope Testing Laboratory, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, has been nominated to the Executive Board of WAADS (World Association of Anti Doping Scientists). She is only Asian in the six-member executive board of WAADS and will have tenure of 3 years starting from March 2015. The WAADS is an organisation comprising anti doping scientists from all the WADA- accredited labs across the world. The purpose of WAADS is to allow WADA-accredited laboratories to interact within their own group as well as to provide assistance to others to combat the issue of doping in sport.


Aarthi Subramanian Appointed On TCS Board as ED

Tata Consultancy Services, the country’s top software and services firm, has appointed Aarthi Subramanian as an Executive Director (ED) on the board of directors. Subramanian has been appointed for period of three-years and with her appointment the TCS Board strength has become eleven, of which six are independent Directors.
