Pakistan Successfully Test Fires Hatf-VI Ballistic Missile

Pakistan on 13 November conducted a successful training launch of intermediate range Shaheen-II (Hatf-VI) ballistic missile. The successful launch was the culminating point of the Field Training Exercise of Army Strategic Forces Command. Shaheen-II Missile is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 1500 kilometres.


Virat Kohli Among 5 Cricketers Selected As Ambassadors For World Cup 2015

International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed five top cricketers as its ambassadors for the ICC Cricket ‘ World Cup 2015 ‘  to be held in Australia and New Zealand.  These include India’s Virat Kohli, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara, Australia’s Shane Watson and Mitchell Johnson and New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum.


Maharashtra Govt To Launch Rs 4,000 cr Satellite Imaging Project

Maharashtra government will soon launch a Rs 4,000 crore satellite imaging project to map all land in the state and prepare digital records of land holding. It will also curb corruption at lower level where bribes have to be paid for getting the documents.The project would be taken up under a centrally funded scheme.


Veteran  Sports  Scribe  Chandrasekhar P Sant Died

Veteran sports scribe and President of the Sports Journalists Association of Mumbai Chandrasekhar P Sant died on 13 November. He was 61. Chandrasekhar P Sant, a former sports editor of Maharashtra Times, was a long-time treasurer of the Sports Journalists Federation of India. He was among the few Indian sports scribes who were present to witness Kapil Dev’s team winning the coveted World Cup in England in 1983. He was a well-known commentator in Marathi and was associated with All India Radio and Doordarshan for decades. Sant was the only sports journalist to have attended the JK Bose All India Cricket tournament for sports journalists since its inception.
