French Economist Jean Tirole Won 2014 Nobel Prize For Economics

French Economist Jean Tirole won the 2014 Economics Nobel Prize for his analysis of market power and regulation.The economist will receive an 8 million Swedish crown ($1.1 million) prize. The economics prize, officially called the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, was established in 1968. It was not part of the original group of awards set out in dynamite tycoon Nobel’s 1895 will.


Ajay Jayaram Won Dutch Open Grand Prix 2014

Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram won the Dutch Open Grand Prix badminton tournament. He defeated Indonesia’s Ihsan Maulana Mustofa in the men’s singles final at Almere (The Netherlands).


 Paralympic Games To Be Held In India In February 2015

Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment on 13 October announced that a multi-sport Paralympic Games will be held in India in February 2015. The games are scheduled to be held from 20 February to 26 February 2015. Athletes from India and abroad will participate in these games.


India To Host Asia Cup Archery

India has been allotted the inaugural leg of the Asia Cup world-ranking archery tournament early next year. The Asia Cup, which will replace the Asian GP, will be held on the format of the annual World Cups and fetch valuable ranking points for the archers. According to a top Archery Association India (AAI) official, the first leg will be conducted in Delhi in the second week of January. The second and third legs have been allotted to Bangkok (March) and Tehran (June).
