Rohan Bopanna Selected For Davis Cup Commitment Award

Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna has been selected for the Davis Cup Commitment Award given by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Australian Lleyton Hewitt and Gustavo Kuerten of Brazil are the other two recipients. Its allotted to Davis Cup players for their dedication in representing their country in this prestigious tournament. One must have competed in a minimum of 20 home-and-away ties or 50 ties at any level of the competition (including week-long zone group events) over their career to be eligible for this honour.


Nandan Nilekani Conferred with V Krishnamurthy Award For Excellence

Nandan Nilekani, the former Chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India (UDAI), has been conferred with V Krishna Murthy Award for Excellence. The former CEO of Infosys received the award from Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah at the Centre for Organisation Development (COD). Krishna Murthy was instrumental in turning around public sector giants BHEL and SAIL. He also helped Maruti to make a mark in the automobile sector.
