Bhutan’s Opposition Party Wins Parliamentary Elections

On 14 July Bhutan’s Election Commission formally announced that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won the National Assembly elections by having secured a majority of thirty two seats.The Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) won fifteen seats and was elected as the opposition party.PDP leader Tshering Tobgay is likely to be named prime minister of the new government.


Abhijeet Gupta Won Commonwealth Chess Championship

On 14 July Indian Grandmaster and former world junior champion Abhijeet Gupta has won the Commonwealth Chess Championship ,after settled for a draw with Indian national title-holder G. Akash in the final round at Port Elizabeth in South Africa.


Nicolas Mahut Won Hall Of  Fame Championship

On 14 July Frenchman Nicolas Mahut has won the title after defeated Lleyton Hewitt of Australia in the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships final.Mahut won his second career ATP title.
