A K Misra appointed as Chairman of ASRB
Veterinary Professor & former Vice Chancellor of GB University of Agriculture & Technology Pantnagar, Shri Aditya Kumar Misra has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Agricultural Scientific Recruitment Board (ASRB). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the Misra’s appointment, who will hold the new post.

Leading industrialist Rahul Bajaj will step down as the Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Bajaj Finserv. However, he will continue to serve the company as Chairman Emeritus. Vice-Chairman Nanoo Pamnani will take over as the new Chairman of Bajaj Finserv.

Sebi Lifts Foreign Investment Cap on Corporate Bonds
Markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) withdrew the 20% limit on investments by Foreign Portfolio Investors in corporate bonds of an entity. The regulator stated that the restriction is being withdrawn in accordance with a circular issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).


India ranks 16th in terms of highest number of impacted species in hotspots
India was ranked 16th in the world in terms of highest number of impacted species in biodiversity-rich zones (also known as hotspots) due to human actions. In India, 35 species affected on an average in biodiversity-rich zones.


Retail inflation increases to 2.57% in February 2019
The Central Statistical Office (CSO) has released the data of Inflation for the month of February 2019. The data shows that: Retail inflation was at a four-month high of 2.57 per cent in February 2019 due to costlier food articles. The retail inflation was highest since October 2018 when it stood articles. The retail inflation was highest since October 2018 when it stood at 3.38 per cent.


Special Olympics World Games 2019 in The UAE Makes History
Special Olympics World Games 2019 which is being held from March 14 to March 21 in the UAE has made history by welcoming a record-breaking 200 nations ahead of the Games. Of the 200 nations, 195 will compete in the Games and five will observe.

World Kidney Day (WKD) is observed annually on the second Thursday in March to create awareness on the importance of the kidneys and reducing the frequency and impact of kidney disease. The theme of WKD 2019 is Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere, which calls for universal health coverage for prevention and early treatment of kidney disease.
