Neptune’s 14th Moon Discovered

On 16 July NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has discovered a new moon orbiting the distant blue-green planet Neptune. This brings the number of known satellites circling the giant planet to 14.This is the smallest planet with a perimeter of 19.3 Km. The name of the new planet is S/2004 N 1.This Satellite was found by Mark Showalter, who is in SETI Institute,America.


Alby Shale Bats For 26 Hours To Break World Record

British player Alby Shale bats for 26 hours to break world record and got a place in Guinness record.Alby Shale, a 22-year-old from Oxfordshire, began his marathon stand in the indoor nets at 6:45 am on 15th July and finally declared his innings at 8:45 am on 16th July.The previous batting record of 25 hours was set in October last year by Australian batsman Jade Child.


Pakistan To Hold Presidential Election On August 6

Pakistan will hold its Presidential election on August 6 .Because,Mr. Zardari’s five-year term expires on September 8 . So, the election commission decided to conduct a election on August 6th .Including Presidential election they also conducting Bi-elections in 42 vacant places


Government Increases FDI Limits In 12 Sectors

On 16 July 2013,the Union Government of India raised the FDI limit in 12 Sectors. In Telecom Sector the FDI limit from 74 percent to 100 percent increased. Government also cleared that the FDI in the Insurance and Telecom sectors will be up to 49 per cent through automatic route. The Union Government also mentioned that FDI the single brand retail would be up to 49 percent through automatic route and remaining investments would be directed through Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) route.FDI in asset reconstruction companies will be up to 49 per cent through automatic route.FDI in Credit Information Companies has been raised to 74 per cent from 49 per cent. The Government also confirmed that the FDI in Defence Production will continue to be 26 percent.


Free Medical Treatment For Pregnant Women

On 16 July Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad announced the government will provide free pre-natal health care and ambulance facilities to pregnant women across the country .Under the Janani Suraksha Yojna (JSY) scheme, pregnant women are provided free medical treatment during the delivery and post natal care.Pregnant women will be given “free medical and ambulance facilities” from conception to delivery. They will also be able to avail free consultation from doctors at government hospitals for 45 days from delivery and infants will be given free treatment at the hospitals for one year.
