Ratan Tata Appointed as Chief Advisor of AirAsia India

On 16 June 2013 AirAsia announced that Ratan Tata, the ex-chairman of the Tata Group was appointed as the Chief Advisor of AirAsia’s India board. In the meanwhile, Mittu Chandilya was named as the CEO of the AirAsia India. Ratan Tata paved the way for creating joint venture between AirAsia, Arun Bhatia of Telestra Tradeplace and the Tata Group.In the joint venture, AirAsia has 49 percent share, while Tata has 30 percent share. Remaining 21 percent share is held by Arun Bhatia.


Urban Administration Dept adopts online fund transfer system in MP

In Madhya Pradesh, the Urban Administration Department has adopted online fund transfer system to ensure transparency and speed in the process of fund transfer to urban bodies. Funds are now being deposited directly in bank accounts of concerning urban bodies through electronic transfer.


India Won Silver Medal in Archery World Cup

The Indian players Rajat Chouhan and Manjudha Soy won a silver medal at the World Cup (Stage-II) Archery competition held in Antalya, Turkey on 16 June 2013.They lost against the Italian world champions Sergio Pagni and Marcella Toniolli.


India Won 17 Medals at Junior Asian Wrestling Championship

On 16 June Junior Indian wrestlers won 17 medals at the recently concluded Asian Junior Championships.The grapplers won in freestyle, greco-roman and female categories in the tourney held June 12-16.The freestyle team won three gold, two silver and two bronze medals and also took the overall team championship. The girls team won two silver and three bronze medals while the greco-roman team won a silver and bronze.This is the first time in wrestling history that Indian juniors bagged 17 medals out of the 24 on offer.


Kuwait’s Constitutional Court Dissolved Parliament

On 16 June The Kuwait Constitutional Court has dissolved the Kuwaiti parliament and ordered new elections.The Constitutional Court had decided not to make a ruling on the constitutionality of the Emir Sheik Al-Sabah’s change to the electoral laws after they had examined and rejected the challenge.


Indian Artist Selected For Dubai Art Prize

On 16 June Bangalore-based artist Anup Mathew Thomas, whose works featured at the Kochi biennale, is among five winners of Dubai Abraaj Group Art Prize.The Abraaj Group Art Prize was established in 2008.


Indonesia Badminton Tournament 2013 Winner
Men’s Singles :- On 16 June Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia) won the Indonesia Badminton Tournament Men’s Singles title after defeated Germany’s Marc Zwiebler in the final.
Women’s Singles :- Li Xuerui of China won the title.In the women’s singles final Li Xuerui defeated Juliane Schenk from Germany.


Roger Federer Won Halle ATP Title

On 16 June Roger Federer of Switzerland won Gerry Weber Open Halle ATP title ,after defeated Mikhail Youzhny of Russia in the final at Halle,Germany.This is the first title won by Federer in the year 2013 and sixth Halle Title and 77th title of the career.
