Bobby Ghosh is Time International Editor

Eminent Indian journalist Bobby Ghosh had been named the new editor of Time International. Ghosh was appointed on 15 March 2013 as the first non-American world editor in TIME’s history.Bobby, whose recent India stories for TIME have included profiles of cricket god Sachin Tendulkar; Bollywood star Aamir Khan and world chess champ Vishwanathan Anand, replaces Jim Frederick, who now becomes a contributing editor.


Bollywood director Kamal K.M. wins Gollapudi award

Bollywood director Kamal K.M. had been chosen for the 16 Gollapudi Srinivas National Award for his bilingual I.D.The film was among 20 nominations from across the country in languages including Malayalam, Hindi, English, Kannada, Tamil and Marathi.The award is instituted by the Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Foundation in memory of Gollapudi Srinivas, who died in an accident in 1992, at the age of 26 years, while shooting his debut film.


India May Become 5th Largest Manufacturing Nation

According to the Boston Consultancy Group (BCG) report titled `People productivity-Key to Indian manufacturing competitiveness’,India may become the 5th largest manufacturing nation from 9th position at present , if the country is able to increase the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25 per cent.The National Manufacturing Policy envisages that India’s manufacturing sector should increase its share of GDP from 15 percent at present to 25 percent by 2022, in line with global peers.It will help India become the fifth-largest manufacturing nation


Sudershan Reddy sworn-in as Goa’s Lokayukta

On 16 March Former Supreme Court Judge B. Sudershan Reddy was sworn-in as Goa’s first Lokayukta at Raj Bhavan .Justice Reddy was administered the oath of secrecy by Goa Governor B.V. Wanchoo in the presence of State Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
