G-20 Summit 2015 held in Antalya, Turkey

 The G-20 Summit held in Antalya, Turkey, on 15-16 November 2015. The 2015 G-20 Antalya summit was the tenth meeting of the G-20 heads of government. Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, and Jean Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, represented the EU at the summit. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are attended the summit.The world’s leading economies adopted a comprehensive agenda including the implementation of past commitments, boosting investment to drive growth and promoting inclusiveness to ensure the benefits of their actions can be shared by all. G20 leaders also reaffirmed the need to work together to fight terrorism. The G20 aims to conclude the Summit with practical outcomes on such priority areas as development, climate change, financing for climate change, trade, growth and employment.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Turkey

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Turkey on 15-16 November, 2015. After successful three-day tour of the United Kingdom, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14 November night reached the resort town of Antalya in Turkey for the G-20 Summit. In Antalya, PM Modi raised issues related to terrorism, climate change and global cooperation to unearth black money, among others. He conducted bilateral talks with Australia Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. The procedures for bringing India and Australia nuclear deal into force was completed at the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.


Syed Akbaruddin appointed as next Permanent Representative of India to UN

On 16th November 2015, Syed Akbaruddin was appointed as the next Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations. He succeeded Asoke Kumar Mukerji. He is a 1985 batch officer of Indian Foreign Service. At present, he is serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.


Indian Veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey passed way

Veteran Bollywood actor Saeed Jaffrey (86) passed away on 15th November 2015 in London. He has worked in a number of Indian and British movies like My Beautiful Laundrette, Gandhi, A Passage to India, Chashme Buddoor, Ram Teri Ganga Maili etc. Jaffrey was the first Indian actor to exhibit Shakespeare plays in United States. He had became the first Indian to receive the Order of the British Empire (OBE) and was awarded with Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for Shatranj Ke Khiladi in 1978.
