Noted Film Producer Daggubati Ramanaidu Died

Dada Saheb Phalke award winner and Padmabhushan award recipient Daggubati Ramanaidu died on 18 February in Hyderabad. He was 78. Basically a Telugu Cinema producer, Ramanaidu made films in almost all Indian languages. He holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the most films produced by an individual, as he has produced more than 150 films in 13 Indian languages. In 1960’s he started Suresh Productions and in 1964, made debut as producer in film Raamudu Bheemudu. In 1980’s he had established Rama Naidu Studios in Hyderabad. He was conferred with the Dada Saheb Phalke Award (2009) and Padma Bhushan (2012) in recognition for his contribution to Telugu cinema.


10th Aero India Show Begins In Bengaluru

10th edition of Aero India show has begun at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Aero India is a biennial event. It comprises of aircrafts, aviation products, aero technology and air shows. The organizer of Aero India is Defence Exhibition Organisation (DEO), an arm of the Ministry of Defence and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The first edition of Aero India was held in 1996. Since then, the event has gradually earned international recognition, and has seen increased participation from exhibitors. Aero India 2015 will be the 10th edition of this event and its main theme is ‘Make in India’, the new Indian refrain that invites defence and civil aerospace manufacturers to think of manufacturing in the country.


Snapdeal.com Acquired Fashion Portal Exclusively.com

Online shopping portal Snapdeal.com has acquired premium and luxury fashion site Exclusively.com for an undisclosed amount. With this acquisition, Snapdeal.com aims to further strengthen its fashion business and reach 2 billion US dollars in gross merchandise value in the fashion category in 2015. It will also complement Snapdeal’s existing ecosystem and provide it with a consolidated offering for the luxury and lifestyle shopper, making it India’s first online luxury mall.
