Ratan Tata To Head Railways’ Kayakalp Council’

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on 19 March constituted ‘Kayakalp’ Council and appointed noted industrialist Ratan Tata as its head. The council also seeks to re-engineer business and introduce a spirit of innovation in Indian Railways. Earlier, the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on 26 February 2015 in his first Railway Budget 2015-16 announced that a permanent council will be formed to transform Indian Railways.


Indian-origin Nobel Laureate Ramakrishnan To Head Royal Society In UK

India-born Nobel laureate Sir Venkatraman Ramakrishnan has been confirmed as president elect of Britain’s prestigious Royal Society. Ramakrishnan, who will take up the post on the 1 December 2015, will succeed geneticist Sir Paul Nurse, also a Nobel Laureate.


Ramachandran Appointed as Vice-Chair Of International Relations Commission of ANOC

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President N. Ramachandran has been appointed vice-chair of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) international relations commission. He will serve as a vice-chair of ANOC International Relations Commission for 2015.
