Yogi Adityanath sworn in CM of Uttar Pradesh

Gorakhpur Member of Parliament (MP) Yogi Adityanath was elected on 18 March 2017 as the leader of UP BJP state Legislature Party. With this election, Yogi Adityanath was set to become the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He was Sworn in CM of Uttar Pradesh on 19 March 2017 at a ceremony in Lucknow. He was took Oath as CM of UP in the presence of PM Modi, Amit Shah, L.K. Advani etc.


Amitabh launches World’s First Mobile APP on Breast Health

The Superstar of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan launched the World’s First Mobile App on Breast Health. He was launched the mobile app at an event organised by Mumbai based Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation. Both IOs & Android versions of the app which were available in Apple and Google Play store for free download. It aims to empower the nation about every aspect of Breast cancer and Benign non cancer Breast Health issues in 12 languages.


Punjab Govt gives 33% reservation for Women in State Jobs

In a major decision, the Punjab Cabinet has decided to provide 33% reservation for women in all govt jobs. Women will be given the reservation also in the contractual appointments of the state government. The decision was taken in the first cabinet meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in Chandigarh.


First Fully India made train Medha flagged off at Mumbai

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, via videoconferencing, flagged off the maiden run of the train Medha from Dadar to Borivali, at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. The 12 coach train on the fast track halted at Bandra and Andheri stations in Mumbai. Medha has been manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, which has installed LED lighting to reduce energy consumption.


Former racing champion Ashwin Sundar dies

Former National racing champion Ashwin Sundar and his wife Niveditha died in a car accident at MRC Nagar in Chennai. The car in which the two were travelling caught fire after it hit a roadside tree. Sundar and his wife charred to death inside the vehicle. Sundar had won the national title in car racing and two wheeler events on several occasions.
