Lata Mangeshkar Received First National Yash Chopra Memorial Award

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has been honoured with the First Yash Chopra Memorial Award.The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 10 lakhs (One million) and a citation was presented by the Union Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Manish Tewari at a star studded function in Mumbai on 19 October.The award is a tribute to the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra on the eve of his first death anniversary.Yash Chopra the memorial award will be given annually to people in recognition of their outstanding contribution in the field of art and culture.The Yash Chopra Memorial Award has been instituted by the TSR Foundation of T. Subbarami Reddy.Lata Mangeshkar was conferred several national and international honours, including Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, three national film awards and the One Time Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2008 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of India’s Independence.


Multi Commodity Exchange CEO Shreekant Javalgekar Resigned

Shreekant Javalgekar resigned as the Managing Director and CEO of  Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on 19 October .Multi Commodity Exchange is the only commodity exchange in India which is listed on a stock exchange. Multi Commodity Exchange was promoted by Jignesh Shah-led Financial Technologies India Ltd (FTIL), which also promoted the now-defunct National Spot Exchange Ltd (NSEL). Jignesh Shah Managing Director and CEO of the Financial Technologies India Ltd also resigned from the board on 9 October 2013.Joseph Massey Managing Director and CEO of the MCX-SX also resigned from the board on 9 October 2013.
