Anna Ushenina is  World women’s chess champion

Anna Ushenina of Ukraine 02 December 2012 won the women’s World Championship crown, defeating Antoaneta Stefanova of Bulgaria in the first set of tie-break games.The Ukrainian won $60000 for her efforts in the championship and gets to play the next World championship against Yifan Hou of China next year as part of the new cycle in the women’s World championship.


Cochin airport 1st in India to use solar power for its grid

Cochin International Airport is set to become the first airport in the country to use solar power for running its utility grid system.A Kolkata-based solar module manufacturing company, Vikram Solar, would be installing a 100 kWp solar power facility at the airport situated at Nedumbassery in Cochin.

Menon to visit China to extend ties with new leaders

India’s formal contacts with China’s new leadership would begin when National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon visit China to hold wide ranging talks with Chinese officials over two days from December 3.Menon’s visit mainly focuses on bilateral issues during which he will also meet his Chinese counterpart on border talks, Dai Bingguo, who is set to retire  March 2013.


Railways to set up wheel factory at Raebareli

Railways with Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) to setup a wheel factory at Raebareli  in the Congress president’s(Sonia Gandhi’s) constituency.Pawan Kumar Bansal, the Railway Minister will proposed Rs 500 crore for this project in the 2013-14 Railway Budget.

Scientists created most complex and realistic artificial brain which can pass IQ as well

Software engineers as well as neuroscientists at University of Waterloo, Canada claimed that they have developed a closest model of the functioning human brain, known as Spaun which is advanced enough for passing the basic IQ tests. This is the virtual brain which functions on the supercomputer and comprises of a digital eye, which can be used for visual input. It also has the robotic arm which can be used for drawing the response.The engineers as well as neuroscientists claimed that this was the most complex model of the world of human brain. Spaun or Semantic Pointer Architecture Unified Network comprises of 2.5 million simulated neurons which enables this brain to perform multiple tasks.


Jadeja creates history hitting 3rd triple ton in FC cricket

Ravindra Jadeja became first Indian and only eighth batsman in the first-class cricket history of world to score three triple-centuries in the unbeaten 320 runs against Railways in the Ranji Trophy Group A match on 2 December 2012 in Rajkot.
