India Signed Credit Agreement with World Bank For RRSMP

India has signed a credit agreement of 160 million dollar with World Bank on 2 January for Rajasthan Road Sector Modernisation Project (RRSMP). On behalf of the Government of India, the agreement was signed by Nilaya Mitash, the Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs Ministry of Finance and on behalf of World Bank it was signed by Manoj Jain, the action Director, New Delhi.


Government Approved CCTVs and GPS on Public Transport Vehicles

The government on 2 January approved a Rs 1,405-crore project to track and monitor public transport and provide alarm buttons for alerting authorities. The project involves setting up of closed circuit television (CCTVs) and using global positioning system (GPS) to ensure safety and security of women and girls in distress. The CCEA has approved setting up of a unified system at the national level (National Vehicle Security and Tracking System) and State level (City Command and Control Centre) for GPS tracking of location of emergency buttons in and video recording of incidents in public transport vehicles.
