CCEA approved Scheme For Promotion of National Agricultural Market

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on 2 July approved scheme for Promotion of National Agricultural Market through Agri-Tech Infrastructure Fund at a cost of 200 rupees crore for the next three years. It provides for common electronic platform deployable in regulated markets across the country.


Union Cabinet Approved Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana

Union Cabinet on 2 July approved Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) aiming at providing irrigation facilities to every village. It will help in convergence of investments in irrigation, expand area under assured irrigation and improve water-use.


Union Cabinet Approves National Policy For Skill Development & Entrepreneurship 2015

The Union Cabinet on 2 July approved country’s first integrated National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015. The Mission will provide a strong institutional framework at the Centre and States for implementation of skilling activities in the country.


Indian-American Teacher Darshan Jain Named For US Presidential Award

Darshan Jain, an Indian-American teacher from Illinois, has been awarded with the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching by the US President Barack Obama. Along with Jain, President named 108 Mathematics and Science teachers as recipients of the Award.The award is given annually to outstanding K-12 Science and Mathematics teachers from across the country.


Sir Fazle Hasan Abed Won World Food Prize 2015

Sir Fazle Hasan Abed of Bangladesh, social enterprise visionary and founder of BRAC was announced on 2 July as the 2015 winner of the World Food Prize, the most prominent global award for individuals whose breakthrough achievements alleviate hunger and promote global food security.
