Indian-origin diplomat is new Australian envoy to Israel

On 2 June 2013 Indian – origin diplomat appointed Devanand Sharma appointed as a Australian envoy to Israel. A 37-year-old Devanand Sharma has made history by becoming the country’s youngest Ambassador after he was appointed Canberra’s envoy to Israel.He got Medicine degree from Sydney University.Mr Sharma’s prior international service includes postings as Counsellor at the Australian Embassy in Washington.


Rami Hamdallah appointed new Palestinian PM

On 2 June 2013,Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has appointed Rami Hamdallah, a politically independent academic, as his new prime minister. Rami Hamdallah replaced Western-favoured economist Salam Fayyad who had left the office of Prime Minister in April 2013.Rami Hamdallah is a member of Fatah Palestinian National Authority which is headed by Mahmoud Abbas.He also served as secretary general of the Palestinian central elections commission.


Earthquake in Taiwan

On 2 June 2013,a 6.3-magnitude earthquake strucked the Taiwan. Due to this earthquake ,killed two persons and injured 21 persons.The quake rattled buildings in central Taipei. Its epicenter was near Jenai town in Nantou county.


Egypt’s Top Court Rules Parliament Invalid

On 2 June Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court invalidated the nation’s upper house of parliament and a panel that drew up the constitution.The upper house, or Shura Council, holds legislative powers. It will be dissolved after a new lower house is elected.The court dissolved the lower house of parliament 2012 June.The constitution was drafted by an Islamist-dominated assembly in 2012 November and approved by voters in December.


Bangkok Ranked World’s Top Travel Spot

On 2 June According to a ranking by the MasterCard Index of Global Destination Cities study report ,Bangkok is this year’s number one city for air travel.While London reached the top spot in 2012.Now Bangkok becoming the first Asian city to earn the distinction.Visits to Bangkok were expected to grow by 9.8 percent this year.If all of the top 10 cities maintained their current growth rates, the index predicted that by 2016 Bangkok and London would be followed by Istanbul in the No. 3 spot, with Paris at No. 4 and Dubai at No.5, with Singapore and New York behind them.The ranking was based on a city’s expected international air travel arrivals and the amount of money spent in the city by those arrivals.
