The New Democracy Party leader Antonis Samara sworn in as the Prime Minister of Greece on 20 June 2012. Samaras’s centre-right New Democracy party bagged 129 seats of 300 in the parliamentary elections held on 17 June 2012.

Rajasthan UnEmployment Dole for Graduates

The Rajasthan government on 20 June announced an unemployment allowances scheme, with effect from July 1 , for educated youth registered with employment exchanges for more than a year.It provides for an allowance of Rs.500 a month to the eligible candidate.


14 More services Come Under Tax- Exempt Negative List

The Government on 20 June,Included 14  more services in the ‘Negative list’ to exempt that from the payment of service tax under the new dispensation that will come into effect on July 1.Among the new services that would now be exempted from the negative list-bared system of tax on services are advocate providing services to entities with a turnover of up to Rs.10 lakh,companies engaged in construction of metro projects, law firms & entities providing public conveniences.

Global Second Warmest May On Record

The Globally averaged temperature for May 2012 marked the second warmest May since 1880.The  temperatures were measured over global land and ocean surfaces.
