Uber Launched Low-cost Cab Service For India

Uber, the mobile device app for ride sharing, launched the low cost service UberGO in India. With this, Tata Indica Vista, Etios Liva, Maruti Ritz and Maruti Swift of Uber service will cost lower than an auto-rickshaw. This service will be available in all the ten cities where it has services in India that is Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, New Delhi, Pune and Mumbai.


Govt Reconstitutes National Food Processing Development Council

Union Ministry for Food Processing Industries  reconstituted the National Food Processing Development Council (NFDPC). The Ministry appointed ITC Chairman Y Deveshwar and FieldFresh Foods Vice Chairman Rakesh Bharti Mittal as its members. For the first time, the committee has appointed individual business leaders as its members. Earlier, the industry was represented in this committee by the industry bodies.


S Bhattacharya Selected As Coal India CMD

Public Enterprise Selection Board (PSEB) finalised Sutirtha Bhattacharya, a 1985 Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS officer as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Coal India limited (CIL). Bhattacharya is currently on super-annuation and last served as the CMD of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL), Hyderabad, the second largest coal mining company after CIL. He has earlier served in urban development, power, agriculture and land revenue departments of the Andhra Pradesh government.
