China Opens Nathu La as Second Route For Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra

China has on 22 June opened 2nd land border crossing in Tibet via Nathu La, Sikkim to allow the Indian pilgrims for Kailash-Mansarovar yatra. The new route is in addition and alternative to the existing Lipulekh Pass route located in Uttarakhand which was only route earlier. This route was damaged in the devastating Uttarakhand floods in 2013. This route will facilitate comfortable travel for Indian pilgrims by buses compared to previous route. By this route, pilgrims will be travell by bus to Shigatse in the Tibet Autonomous Region, around 1500 kms away from Nathula to reach their ultimate destination the Kailash–Mansarovar.


Oscar-Winning ‘Titanic’ Composer James Horner Died

James Horner, the Oscar-winning composer of Titanic, has died on 22 June in a plane crash in southern California. He was 67. Horner’s score for Titanic is the best selling orchestral film soundtrack of all time. while Titanic and Avatar, both directed by James Cameron, are the two highest-grossing films of all time. Horner composed music for over 100 films, and won two Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Satellite Awards, three Saturn Awards, and was nominated for three British Academy Film Awards. Horner won two Oscars for his work on James Cameron’s Titanic in 1997, one of them for Celine Dion’s hit song My Heart Will Go On, which he co-wrote with Will Jennings.


Russia Won European Team Athletics Championships 2015

Russia has won the European team athletics championships by winning 10 of the 40 events on the program. The championships were held in Cheboksary, Russia.This is the fourth time that Russia won the title since the inception of games in 2009.
