Five Central Information Commissioners Appointed To CIC
Five new Information Commissioners are appointed to the Central Information Commission (CIC). Chief Information Commissioner Deepak Sandhu administered the oath of office to them in New Delhi on 22 November.The new commissioners are Yashovardhan Azad, Sharat Sabharwal, Manjula Parasher , M A Khan Yusufi and Madabhushanam Sridhar Acharyulu. With this the total number of Information Commissioners including the Chief Information Commissioner has gone up to 10.Madabhushanam Sridhar is the first Central Information Commissioner from Andhra Pradesh.
Magnus Carlsen of Norway Won FIDE World Chess Championship 2013
Magnus Carlsen of Norway won the FIDE World Chess Championship 2013 at Chennai on 22 November. Magnus Carlsen defeated the previous world champion Viswanathan Anand of India by 6.5-3.5 in the match that was held from 7th November in Chennai, India.This is the first time Viswanathan Anand lose all the games in a single match since last 22 Yrs.He won World Chess Championship title in 2000,2007,2008,2010,2012.
