JeJe named AIFF player of  the year:

1. JeJe Lalpeklya has been nominated as the “2016 AIFF player of the year”
2. The announcement was made by Mr. praful patel, president, All India Foot Fedaration (AIFF) at the AIFF Annual General Body meeting held at the AIFF foll ball house in New Delhi.
3. He will be presented a prize of Rs. 2.5 lakh along with the glittering Trophy.


India wins bronze at women’s U-18 Hockey Cup:

1. India has defeated south Korea 3-0 to secure the bronze medal at the 4th Women’s U-18 Asia cup 2016 Hockey tournament in Bangkok on 22 December 2016.
2. After the win, Hockey India announced cash rewards of Rs.1.lakh for each player.
3. It also announced Rs.50,000 for each member of the supports staff.
4. In the first half of the game, both teams played were gool less.


Salman Khan tops Forbers India Celebrity list:

1. Bollywood actor Salman Khan proved his capabilities once again as he tops Forbers India Celebrity list of 2016.
2. The Forbes ranking is based on two parameters:estimation of earning and fame.
3. Sha Rukh Khan ranks second and young cricket sensation Virat Kohli bagged third position.
4. South stars Rajanikanth stood in 30th position while Mahesh babu in 33, Allu Arjun 43, NTR-55 and Ram Charan in 67th positions.


Delhi named India’s most well-read city of 2016:

1. Delhi has emerged as the country’s most well – read city in the fourth consecutive year.
2. Bengaluru and Mumbai taking the second and third spot, according to Annual Reading Trends Report 2016 by Amazon.
3. For the first time Karnal, Vadodara, Patna made it to the top 20 cities, having bought more books than cities like Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Lucknow this year.


Argentina Win FIFA TEAM of the year title:

1. Argentina Claimed the “Team of the year” title after finishing top of the FIFA rankings with 1634 points.
2. Argentina rivals Brazil ended the year in the 2nd position with 15444 points.
3. While World Champions Germany finished 3rd with 1433 points
4. Last year’s winner Belgium ended the year in the 5th position with 1368 points.


Naik inaugurates NE institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy:

1. AYUSH Minister Shripad yesso Naik on 22-December inaugurated the North Eastern institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy (NEIAH) to provide health care to the people of north eastern states.
2. It became the second Ayurvedic college in the North East Region with Homeopathy college and the only central Academic Institute of Ayush.


World’s first solar road opens in France:

1. A small village in France is now home to the world’s first solar road, aka watt way.
2. French Ecology Minister Segolene Royal officially inaugurated the 1 km-long road covered with 2800 square-meters of resin – encased panels in Tourouvre in Normandy on Thursday
3. The French ministry of Environment invested $ 5.2 million to build the project engineered by French road construction company “Colas”


“Pregnancy fluid” reverces aging bones:

   Cells in the Pregnancy fluid that surrounding a developing baby can revive ageing and weak bones, Say UK scientists. The discovery could help babies with genetic diseases, elderly people and even astronauts they say. The finding reports should cells in the fluid strengthened bone and cut fractures by 80%


A reconstituted Committee on Krishna River Board:

  The Union Water Resources Ministry has constituted a committee that was tasked with assisting the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB). The new committee will be headed by A.K. Bajaj, former chairman of the central water commission (CWC). Besides Gopala Krishnan, R.P. pandey, Pradeep Kumar Shukla and N.N. Rai will be it members.


India suffers from huge gender pay gap: ILO Report.

      Recently releaged Global wage Report 2016-17 released by the International labour Organisation (ILO) has found that India suffers from huge gender pay gap. Singapore has among the lowest gender wage disparity at 3% In India it is 30%, South Korea only fared worse than India, with the gap of 37%.


NGT-Bans waste burnings in open areas:

  In a significant order, the NGT today, (23 nd Dec) imposed a complete ban on burning of waste in open places across the country and announced a fine of Rs.25,000 on each incident  of bulk waste burning. We specially direct that there shall be complete prohibition on open burning of waste on lands, including at the landfill sites.


Union Govt, launches coal Mitra Portal:

Union power Minister Piyush Goyal has launched “Coal Mitra” web portalto facilitate Flexibility in Utilization of Domestic coal. with this Govt has also allowed Coal Swapping between PSU 8 and the private sector.


National Apprenticeship promotions Scheme (NAPS):

  In a attempt tolink the educational institution with industry to provide real life work experience, P.M Narendra Modi has launched NAPS. He Unveiled the scheme during his recent visit to Kanpur. The scheme aims to provide apprentice ship training to over 50 lakh youngsters  in order to create more Jobs. It has budgetary outlay of 10000 crore.


Govt asks banks to limit fee on electronic fund transfers:

In orderto encourage digital transactions, the Union Finance Ministry asked public sector banks to restrict fee on payments through IMPS and UPI to the extent that is applicable for NEFT fund transfer of over Rs.1000. As per RBI norms NEFT transfers of up to Rs. 10,000 attract Rs. 2.5 fee. From 10,000 to1lakh fee is Rs.5; on Rs.1 lakh – 2 lakh is Rs. 15 fee, and beyond Rs.2 lakh it is Rs.25 service tax is charged in additions to this.


75 Million USD loan for Solar Project in China:

The New Development Bank (NDB), jointly founded be the BRIC Scountries including India, approved USD 75 million loan for a solar porject in China. The loan was given to Shanghai Lingang Distributed solar power project with a maturity length of 17 years under an agreement signed between NDB and shanghai municipal Government. The project by Shanghai Lingang Hongbo New Energy Development is a solar Photo – Voltaic plant with total capacity of 100 MW.


5th Global conference on Cyber Space in India:

Global conference on Cyber Space (GCCS) will be held in India in 2017. This will 5th edition of GCCS and India is hosting it for the first time. Over a 100 countries are expected to participate in this conference. It and law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said. India has been selected for hosting Global Conference on Cyber Space (GCCS) in 2017.


Union Govt launches Google Toilet  Locator APP:

In order to give a push to the Government’s Swachh Bharat Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu launched Google toilet locator which will give a helping hand in developing a clean India. The app was made available through a partnership between the ministry of Urban development and Google. The app enables users to find public wash rooms in order to combat the nation wide problems of open defecation and urination.


Gujarat Govt announces Aerospace and Defence policy – 2016:

Aiming to encourage development of Aerospace and Defence industry in the state Gujarat Govt announced an investor friendly Aerospace and Defence policy 2016. The new policy offers incentives and tax sops charges and electricity charges among others. The policy envisages promotions of cluster – based industries and provides for cash subsidy to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
