Mukesh Ambani Tops Hurun’s Richest Indians List

On 24 October According to the China-based Hurun India Rich List ,Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani is India’s richest man with personal assets of $18.9 billion.Mukesh Ambani retained the top position for the second year even after a wealth decrease of 2 per cent.Mukesh Ambani is followed by London-based steel baron L N Mittal with assets of USD 15.9 billion. Mittal’s wealth declined 6 per cent from last year.Sun Pharmaceuticals’ founder Dilip Shanghvi broke into the top three for the first time with a 66 per cent surge in his wealth.Anil Ambani of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group occupies the 11th position with a personal fortune of USD 7.1 billion.Bollywood Actor Shah Rukh Khan was ranked 114th and has personal assets of USD 400 million.


Legendary Indian Playback Singer Manna Dey Died

Legendary Indian singer Manna Dey, whose original name was Prabodh Chandra Dey, has died on 24 October in Bangalore.He debuted in the film Tamanna in 1942, and went on to record more than 4000 songs from 1942 to 2013. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 1971, the Padma Bhushan in 2005 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2007.Dey sang mainly in Hindi and Bengali; he also recorded songs in several other Indian languages. His peak period in Hindi playback singing is from 1953-1976.
