Salustiano Sanchez-Blazquez Is World’s Oldest Man

On 25 July A man from the Niagara falls area in New York has received the Guinness World Records title for “World’s oldest man.”Salustiano Sanchez-Blazquez, nicknamed “Shorty” is 112 years old, and he was awarded the title after the demise of 116-year-old Jiroemon Kimura of Japan. As I documented, the world’s oldest person is 115-year-old Misao Okawa, also a Japan resident.Sanchez-Blazquez was born in El Tejado de Bejar, Spain on 8 June  1901.


Former Union Minister Arun Nehru Died

On 25 July Arun Nehru, former Union minister and the cousin of Rajiv Gandhi as well as the Minister for Internal Security during his government, died in Gurgaon.Arun Nehru was born in Lucknow.He was a three-time Lok Sabha member.When Rajiv Gandhi became the prime minister in 1984, he was his close adviser and minister of state for internal security.


Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange Launched Political Party In Australia

On 25 July Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has launched his political party to contest Australian elections this year. As per Assange, his party which he named ” Wikileaks Party ” would be fielding seven candidates including Assange for upper house Senate seats in the states of New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.Two Indian-origin persons are among the seven candidates who will contest elections on a Wikileaks Party ticket in Senate polls in Australia. Indian-origin academician Binoy Kampmark, who was born in Malaysia and has Bengali heritage, will stand for the Upper House election from Victori whereas Suresh Rajan, who is based out of Kerala, will stand for the party in Western Australia.


Stanford Ranked Top US university On ‘ Forbes ‘ List

On 25 July According to the Forbes magazine’s annual ranking of the top U.S. colleges list ,Stanford University in Northern California’s Silicon Valley ranked No. 1  and much smaller Pomona College was in second place.Princeton University in New Jersey slipped to third place, followed by Yale University in Connecticut in fourth place and Columbia University in New York City at No. 5.For the sixth year, Forbes worked with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity in Washington to produce the list.


US Vice President Joe Biden Visited India

US Vice President Joe Biden visited India from 22 – 25 July .He is the first U.S. vice-president visited India after three decades.On 22 July Joe Biden visited Gandhi Smriti Museum in New Delhi.On 23 July Biden met President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and discussed on a broad array of issues, include’s ways to enhance economic growth, and cooperation in trade, energy and climate change, security and strategic opportunities, besides investments in innovation and education.On 24 – 25 July Biden visited in Mumbai.Biden met business leaders and delivered a policy speech at the Bombay Stock Exchange. He visited New Delhi in 2008 as a senator..It is Biden’s first trip to India as vice president
