India successfully test – fires its Agni-V:
India on Monday (26th December) successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable, Inter continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Agani-V, that has range of more than 5000 km or the ability to reach northern most China, Agni-V is the most advanced with inbuilt new technologies for navigation and guidance war head and engine.


Advani wins National ltitle is 6-red snooker:

Sixteen-time world champion Pankaj Advani has ended the year on a high by bagging the National title in 6-red snooker, the shorter format of the game. Starting off as the favorite, Advani lived up to the expectations and reclaimed the title, which he had won during the inaugural edition in Bengaluru in 2010. In the final Advani prevailed over local youngster.

Scientists find world’s most heat resistant:
A team of researchers from the Imperial College of London discovered the most heat resistant material in the world which might improve the heat shielding of the space craft and also it might come handy in several other areas of scientific experiments. The new material can with stand temperatures of up to 4000 K or degrees Celsius with ease.


Govt launched Luck Grahak Yojana, Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana:

Union Govt launched a Luckey Grahak Yojana for merchants on 25th December 2016. The schemes are aimed at encouraging people to move significantly towards higher usage of digital transactions through an offer of incentives and cash Prizes. These schemes were launched by Union Minister for Electronics and Information technology Ravi Shankar Pradad and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.


Kuchipudi performers create a Guinnes world Recores:

AP’s own classical dance “Kuchipudi” found a place in Guinnes World Records yet again when a record 6,117 dancers came together to present a show at the IGMC stadium in Vijayawada, Guinness adjudicator Rishinath declared that “Jayamu Jayamu” items presented in unison by the participants created a new record and handed over a certificate Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Thde “Maha Brunda Natyam” (grand group dance) was organised as part of the 5th International Kuchipudi Dance Convention.


British Singer George Michael dies at 53:

British Singer Grorge Michael who has launched his career with wham in the 1980 s and continued his success as a solo performer, has died on 25 December 2016 at the age of 53 and cause of death was heart failure.


First biological pacemaker developed from human stem cells:

Scientists have developed the first functional pace maker cells from human stem cells which can regulate heart beats with electrical impulses paving the way for alternate, biological pace maker therapy. Canadian scientists have succeeded to develop first functional pacemaker cells from human stem cells.


India’s first 2G Ethanol Bio-refinery to set up in Punjab:

India’s first 2G (Secndgeneration) Ethanol Bio- refinery in India to be set up at Bathindea in Punjab. Foundation stone laying ceremony to be held on 25th December, 2016. It provides additional sources of remuneration to farmers, address the growing environmental concerns and Ethanol Blended petrol (EBP) programme.


MEA lauches Twitter Seva Service:

Expanding its social media outreach, External Affairs Ministry on Friday launched a “Twitter Seva” service with an aim to centralise its grievance redressal mechanism by bringing over 200 Social media handles including those of Indian Missions and regional passport offices under one plat form.


Co- Artist of Nationl Emblem, Dinanath Bhargava died at 89:

Dinanath Bhargava, a co-artist in the team that sketched the National Emblem “Lion Capital of Ashoka” and decorated the pages of the constitution’s manuscript, died at the age of 89 in Indore.
