Union Government Launched Dot Bharat Domain
The Union government has launched a new Dot Bharat domain in Devanagari script. The domain has been launched for non-English speaking people and will cover eight languages like Hindi, Dogri, Bodo, Maithili, Konkani, Marathi, Nepali and Sindhi.
New NASA Satellite Can Predict Severity of Drought
NASA scientists, including one of Indian-origin, developed Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite that can predict the severity of droughts worldwide and help farmers maximize the crop yield. The Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite is scheduled to launch this coming October and is one of the first Earth observation satellites developed by the U.S. space agency.
