G.N. Rao to be inducted into Ophthalmology Hall of Fame

Gullapalli N. Rao. a noted Indian eye doctor, has been selected to the 2017 Ophthalmology Hall of Fame instituted by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. The founder and Chairperson of the L. V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. Rao will be honoured at the induction ceremony in Los Angeles on May 6 at the annual meeting of the ASCRS.


Dragon Ball Z Goku to be 2020 Olympics ambassador

Dragon Ball Z Son Goku has selected as the ambassador of the 2020 Olympics to be held in Tokyo, according to reports in Konbini. It has been in the knowing that the next Olympic Games will be held in Japan and the host country has found a good opportunity to show off its culture. Goku is a world renowned character a the Olympic Committee has decided that he is well worth investing in at the biggest sporting event in the world.


Telangana Signs MoU for aero skill academy

Govt of Telangana has signed a memorandum of agreement with French Aerocampus Aquitaine on 27 January 2017 in Hyderabad. The scope of this partnership is to create a world class aero skills academy in collaboration with academia and industry based in Hyderabad. The new academy will offer specialized aeronautical courses in engineering, manufacturing and maintenance domains. The academy will offer both long and short duration programmers.


AP launches Rs.100 crore fund of funds in Fintech

Andhra Pradesh aims to run the state into  global fintech hub with this funding. The state already has a fintech tower which houses startups like paytm and more from other countries. Having identified fintech as a promising space to generate jobs, Andhra Pradesh today announced a Rs.100-crore fund of funds to invest in startups in this area.


N. Chandrasekaran Appointed AD of  Indian Hotels

The Tata Sons-controlled Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) on 28 January has appointed Natarajan Chandrasekaran, the Chairman Designate of Tata Sons Ltd, as an Additional Director of the company in a Non-Executive capacity with immediate effect. Chandrasekaran is also the CEO and MD of tech major TCS since 2009. He was appointed as a Director on the Board of Tata Sons on 25th Oct, 2016.
