ISRO gets Gandhi Peace Prize For 2014

The Indian space research organisation (Isro) was awarded the Gandhi Peace Prize 2014 for its contribution to the country’s development through space technology and satellite-based services. The Gandhi Peace Prize for social, economic and political transformation through non-violence was instituted in 1995. The prize comprises of Rs. 1 crore and a citation.


Murty S Kambhampati Selected For US Presidential Award Of Excellence

An Indian-American biology professor is among 15 scientists who have been selected for a prestigious US presidential award for excellence in the field of science, mathematics and engineering mentoring.Murty S Kambhampati, a professor of biology at Southern University at New Orleans will receive the award at a White House ceremony later this year.


Delhi’s Aditi Arya Crowned Miss India 2015

Delhi girl Aditi Arya has been crowned FBB Femina Miss India World 2015 at a ceremony held at Yashraj Studios on 28 March.Aditi Arya was declared FBB Femina Miss India World 2015 while Aafreen Rachel Vaz walked away with the fbb Femina Miss India 2015 first runner-up crown and Vartika Singh was fbb Femina Miss India 2015 second runner-up.


Mizoram Governor Aziz Qureshi Sacked

Mizoram Governor Aziz Qureshi was sacked on 28 March after serving only three months in office. Qureshi’s tenure was to end in 2017. West Bengal Governor Kesari Nath Tripathi was given the additional charge of the state, making him its seventh Governor in eight months. Nearly 10 states in the country currently have Governors with additional charges.
