International Day  Of  People with Disability was Observed On 3 December

International Day of People with Disability was observed across the world on 3 December 2014. This is the 22nd anniversary of International Day of People with Disability. The theme of the year is “Sustainable Development: The Promise of Technology”. This day is observed annually to focus on the issues that affect people with disabilities worldwide. International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations sanctioned day that aims to promote an understanding of people with disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and well-being.


Anil Kumar Sinha Assumes Charge As new CBI director

Senior IPS officer Anil Kumar Sinha took charge as the new Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on 3 December 2014. Sinha, a 1979 batch IPS officer of Bihar cadre, succeeds Ranjit Sinha, a fellow Bihar cadre officer, who retired on 2 December 2014. Sinha was working in the CBI since May 15, 2013 as special director and was supervising investigations into several high profile cases. Before joining CBI, he was posted as additional secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).


Uttar Pradesh Govt Launched Women Entrepreneurship Scheme

Uttar Pradesh government has started the Women Entrepreneurship Scheme 2014-15 to empower women and ensure their participation in the process of industrialization. Under the scheme, unemployed women are eligible for easy seed capital to start their own micro or small enterprise. The loan, provided by nationalized banks, financial institutions or the State Financial Corporation, is for the purchase of plant and machinery.


Osama Bin Laden Family-Owned Group To Build Africa’s Highest Tower

A construction group owned by the family of Osama bin Laden is to build a 514-metre high tower in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco that will be the tallest on the African continent. The project by the Saudi Alturki Holding Group represents a total investment of $1.5 billion and will be sited in the downtown area of Anfa City.
