Haryana signs MoU with andhra to prepare SRDB:

Haryana Govt 29th December signed a memorandum (MoU) of understanding with Andhra Pradesh to assist it compile a centralized data base of its population to ensure efficient and effective implementation of welfare programmes. The MoU for state Resident Data Base (SRDB) was signed by Haryna Principal Secretary, Information Technology Devender Singh and secretary Andhra Pradesh. Information Technology Vijayen. Haryana CM. Manohar Lal Kattar and AP CM. N.Chandrababu Naidu were present during the signing of the MoU at Andhra Bhavan in Haryana.


Railway Minister lays foundation of Nadikudi-Sri Kalahasti Project:

By remotely laying the foundation for the Nadikudi Sri Kalahastri railway line from New Delhi on 30th December, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu. Mr. Prabhu flagged off the Double-Decker train between Visakhapatnam-Tirupathi. A.P. CM, Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister of state for science and Technology Y.S. Chowdary participate in this programme.


President gives assent to payment of wages ordinance-2016:

President Pranab Mukherjee has given assent to payment of wages (ammendment) ordinance 2016, to enable industries to pay wages by cheque or credit into the bank accounts of workers. The ordinance amends the payment of wages act, 1936 to encourage cashless transactions, with this assent the ordinance becomes law as per article 123 of the constitution.


Govt meets PUMY target of 1.5 crore LPG concections:

The Union Govt has been able to achieve the full year’s target of providing 1.5 crore LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PUMY) with eight months. According to the Ministry of petroleum & Natural gas statement, the top five states with maximum connections are UP (46 lakh), West Bengal (19 lakh), Bihar (19 lakh), MP (17 lakh) and Rajasthan (14 lakh). These constitutes nearly 75 percent of the total connections released.


China Operationalises World’s longest Bullet Train Lines:

China started operations of the of the world’s longest high-speed railways that links the country’s prosperous eastern coast to the less-developed south western part of the country. The Shanghai-Kunming line – 2,252 km in length-traverses the five provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangri, Human, Guizhou and Yunnan and cuts travel time from shanghai to Kunming from 34 hours to 11 hours.


PM. Narendra Modi launches BHIM app:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30th December launched a new mobile app called BHIM to enable fast, secure and reliable payments system that uses smart phones for cashless transactions. BHIM, shor for Bharat Interface for Money. can be used with other Unified payments Interface (UPI) applications and bank accounts.


Govt proposes setting up FDMC:

The Union Govt has proposed setting up Financial Data Management center (FDMC) based on recommendation of a committee set up under the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA). The committee was headed by Ajay Tyagi, Additional in Union Finance Ministry and has submitted its report and draft bill titled the Financial Data Management Center Bill, 2016.


BoB signs MoU with HFL to provide dairy loans to Farmers:

State-run Bank of broad (BoB) and Heritage Foods Ltd. (HFL) on 29th December signed a memorandum of Under standing to provide dairy loans to Farmers through the lenders branches across the country. Heritage Foods in the the business of procurement, processing and sale of milk and milk products.


South Indian Bank Unveils mobile banking app for NRI’s:

South Indian Bank has introduced a full fledged NRI-focused mobile banking application called SIB Mirror + Across major mobile plat forms. The new app was launched after the path-breaking E-Lock feature that provided a single tap solution to fully secure all digital transaction from frauds. It also provides bill payment facility. instant mobile /DTH recharge, cheque book request and 24×7 ‘with in bank’ fund transfer.


IAF’s Advanced Landing Ground at Arunachal Pradesh:

The Indian Air Force is readying to fully operationalise seven advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs) in Arunachal Pradesh after almost two years of repair and reconstruction, a move that promises to provide a major boost to the country’s operational capability. The ALG at Tuting was inaugurated by Arunachal Pradesh CM. Pema Khandu in the presence of Air Marshal C. Hari Kumar, Air officer Commanding-in-chief. Eastern Air Command on 29th December.
