ISRO’s PSLV C-23 Launched with Five Foreign Satellites
ISRO(Indian Space Research Organisation)’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C23 successfully put five satellites from abroad into their perfect orbits on 30 June 2014. The launch was conducted from ISRO’s spaceport at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The PSLV C23 carried five satellites belonging to four countries namely France, Germany, Canada and Singapore. All these five satellites were launched under commercial arrangements that ANTRIX (ISRO’s commercial arm) has entered with the respective foreign agencies.
West Bengal Governor MK Narayanan Resigned
West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan on 30 June tendered his resignation to the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.Before being appointed as the Governor of West Bengal, Narayanan served as the National Security Advisor.He was appointed as the governor of West Bengal on 24 January 2010 before Trinamool Congress came into power.
