Union Railway Ministry Inaugurated Integrated Security System In Mumbai

Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the Integrated Security System (ISS) installed with a total cost Rs 21.72 crore at four railway stations in the metropolis comprising CST, Dadar, Kurla and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT). The system will monitor passenger activities through a network of CCTV cameras at six railway stations comprising CST, Dadar, Kurla, LTT, Kalyan and Thane. The ISS is aimed at improving security on Railway premises, ensuring safety of the people and averting terror attacks.


Famous Writer Vishwanath Tripathi Selected For 28th Moorti Devi Award

28th Moorti Devi Award for the year 2014 will be given to famous writer Dr Vishwanath Tripathi for his book Vyomkesh Darvesh.Vyomkesh Darvesh is a lifetime story of Acharya Hazari Prasad Dwivedi. Moorti Devi award was founded by Bharatiya Jnanpith and is given away to the authors who have contributed in the field of contemporary creative writing in modern Indian languages.


Airtel Becomes Third Largest Mobile Operator In The World

BHARTI Airtel announced on 30 June that it has become the third largest mobile operator in the world in terms of number of subscribers. As per the latest data published by WCIS, Airtel, with over 303 million mobile subscribers across its operations in 20 countries, has moved up one position since 2012. While China’s state-owned China Mobile is the top wireless mobile operator with over 625-million subscribers, the Vodafone group is the second in the list with more than 400-million customers. China Unicom is close at Airtel’s heels in the fourth position with close to 300-million subscribers.
