Government Allows E-rickshaws To Ply On Roads

E-rickshaws can now officially ply on city roads as the government recognised them as special category three-wheeled vehicles with a maximum speed of 25 kilometre per hour. The Delhi High Court had put a ban on plying of e-rickshaws due to safety issues. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways notified that ‘E-rickshaw means a special purpose battery operated vehicle having three wheels and intended to provide last mile connectivity for transport of passengers.


World Animal Day Observed Across The World

World Animal Day was observed across the world on 4 October 2014. It is a day to celebrate animal life in all is forms and humankind’s relationship with the animal kingdom. The day is celebrated annually. The World Animal day was originally started at a convention of ecologists, 1931 in Florence.  Since October 4th is the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, this date was chosen to celebrate the World Animal Day.


 Shah Rukh Khan Received Global Diversity Award

Shah Rukh Khan has been presented with the Global Diversity Award at the State Room of Britain’s House of Commons in London on 4 October. The Award was presented by the British Parliament by the 136th Leader of the office of Speaker Rt Hon John Bercow MP. Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Chair of the Home Affairs committee conducted the grand ceremony.


Mahendra Singh Dhoni Becomes ISL Team Chennaiyin FC Co-owner

Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has invested in the Chennaiyin FC to own the football team in the high-profile Indian Super League after Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. In September 2014 Virat Kohli invested a deal in ISL team FC Goa, Tendulkar invested in Kerala Blasters while Sourav Ganguly is a co-owner of Atletico de Kolkata.
