Lewis Hamilton Won Japanese F1 Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes team won the Japanese F1 Grand Prix on 5 October. British driver Lewis Hamilton won the race to take 10 point lead over teammate Nico Rosberg (Germany). Rosberg finished the race at second spot while third place was taken by Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel (Germany).
World Teachers’ Day 2014 Observed Across The World
World Teachers’ Day 2014 was observed across the world on 5 October 2014. World Teachers’ Day, held annually on October 5th since 1994, commemorates teachers’ organizations worldwide. Its aim is to mobilize support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers. According to UNESCO, World Teachers’ Day represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.

Rahul Keshav Patwardhan was appointed as next chief executive officer (CEO) of NIIT. Rahul Keshav Patwardhan will be taking charge at this position from 1st April 2015. NIIT is an IT training solutions firm which was founded in 1981 with an aim of preparing skilled manpower pool for global industry requirements.
Pratima Dharm Appointed As The First Hindu Priest At Georgetown University
Pratima Dharm was appointed as the first Hindu priest (Chaplain) at Georgetown University. Dharm began her assignment at the University on 1 October 2014. She recently retired from the US Army as its first Hindu priest.
