Indian Women Clinch 4x400m Relay Gold At Asian Athletics Championship

On 7 July India clinched a gold medal in women’s 400m relay in a sensational race to finish sixth overall as the curtains were drawn on the 20th Asian Athletics Championships with China confirming their supreme status in the continent.The home team came up with a rich haul of eight medals, one gold, two silvers and five bronzes on the fifth and final day .India ended the Championships with two golds, five silvers and 10 bronzes, a much improved performance than the last edition in 2011 in Kobe.As expected, China, who had been ruling the Asian Championships for the last 15 editions, finished at the top spot with 16 golds, six silvers and five bronzes.


Indian Defence Minister AK Antony’s Visited China

Indian Defence Minister, Mr AK Antony visited China from 4 – 7 July 2013.During the visit Antony met China Defence Minister General Chang Wanquan and also called on Premier Li Keqiang .Both countries Minister’s discussed an extensive exchange of views on a wide range of defence and security issues.The two sides also agreed to hold talks on China India Border Defence Cooperation Agreement (BDCA).The both countries Defence Ministers discussed ongoing and proposed bilateral exchanges and welcomed the holding of the counter-terrorism bilateral joint exercise between their armies in China in 2013.Antony’s trip is the first by an Indian defence minister since 2006 and comes after a spat between the two nuclear-armed neighbours in May over troop movements in a disputed Himalayan border region.


Sebastian Vettel Won German Grand Prix

On 7 July Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel won the German Grand Prix title .Raikkonen second position and Grosjean got third position.It was Vettel’s first victory in his home race and the 30th of his career.
