The Rio+20 Conference, world leaders, along with thousands of participants from governments.took place in Brazil on 20-22 June 2012 to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), in Rio de Janeiro, and the 10th anniversary of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg.The Conference focused on two themes: (a) a green economy in the context of sustainable development poverty eradication and (b) the institutional framework for sustainable development.
Interntional Labour Conference
101 st session of International Labour Conference organized by International Labour Organization(ILO), concluded on June 14 ,2012 in Geneva. A New International labour standard was adopted at the conference which requested countries ti establish national social protection floors.The Recommendation called for providing people with essential health care benefits as well as basic income security. The countries which cannot affords social protection measures could seek International cooperation and support to complement their own efforts.

A One day International conference in Kabul took place on June 14,2012 to discuss ways to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan and boost regional cooperation.Delegates from 30 countries gathered in Kabul including Iran, Russia ,China ,Turkey as well as International Organizations such as NATO, the European Union, the shanghai cooperation Organization and United Nations. The Conference focused on the security transfer after US-led troops’ withdrawal in 2014,regional strategies to tackle natural disasters and strengthening of trade and economic relations.

The Shanghai cooperation organization(SCO) summit was held in Beijing from June 6-7 ,2012. It was the 12th SCO summit.The Important decisions and discussion held in meeting are as follows :The SCO decided to grant Afghanistan as observer status and accept Turkey as dialogue partner.Member states agreed to facilitate trade and investment in order to tap economic potential within the bloc.Member states had agreed to enhance cooperation in Finance, Transportation, Telecommunications, Energy & Agricultural sectors.
