Sean Spicer, the White House Press Secretary, resigned from his position following the appointment of Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci as Communications director by President Donald Trump. After the appointment of Scaramucci, Spicer was asked to stay on as the Press Secretary and was asked to report to Scaramucci. However, Spicer rejected the offer and resigned. Following his resignation, Spicer’s top deputy Sarah Huckabee Sanders was appointed as Press Secretary. Scaramucci is a Fox News contributor and is known for his on-air defence of President Trump.
