Sufi legend Begum Yaman passes Away at 52
Famous Sufi singer and daughter of legendary Sitar Maestro (late) Ustad Vilayat Alikhan, Begum Yaman K. Khan has passed away after multiple organ failure. Khan was admitted to the Christian Medical college and Hospital, Ludhiana for the treatment of liver failure and breathed her last at 3. A.m. She was the recipient of “Hazrat Amir Khusro Award”by Urdu Press Club International and an award for her excellence and contribution to semiclassical and sufiana Kalam by Balkan-ji-Bari International.
PM Modi releases stamp on Ramanujacharya’s 1000th Birth Anniversary
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative stamp on the 1000th Birth Anniversary of Saint Ramanujacharya on 1st May, 2007 in New Delhi. The central message of Saint Ramanujacharya’s life was inclusive society. Religion and Philosophy. Ramanujacharya saw manifestation of God in human beings and saw all devotees of God as equal. Sri Ramanuja Jayanthi is celebrated each year and Jayanthi is decided based on Tamil Solar Calendar. This year which falls on 1st May.
Shobana Kamineni appointed as new CII President
Shobana Kamineni has been appointed as first woman president of confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 1 May 2017. Shobana is presently an executive vice chairperson of the Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited. She is an Independent Director on the Boards of Blue star Limited and Hero Motocorp. She will take over the top position from the current president Naushad Forbes.
SpaceX Launches Intelligence Mission on Falcon 9
United States America based manufacturing company Spacex successfully launched and landed a rocket carrying NROL – 76 for US intelligence from the Kennedy Space centre in Florida on 1st May, 2017. This was the fourth Space X booster landing at cape Canaveral and fifth successful mission in 2017. It is the US Space X’s first intelligence mission.
International Labour Day 1 May 2017
International Workers Day, also known as International Labour Day. In some countries, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement, socialists, communists or anarchists. It occurs every year on May Day which is 1st May. It is the day to pay tribute to the labourers. Without them nothing will complete. In India, the first labour day or May Day was celebrated in 1923 in Chennai.
Real Estate Act will come into force on 1st May
The Real Estate Regulatory Act, which promises to protect the rights of home buyers and bring in transparency to the sector, comes into force 1st May. Though only 13 states and Union Territories have notified the rules so far, the center believer that within next two months, others too will follow suit. Real estate developers shall get on going projects that have not received with regulation authorities by July end. This enables the buyers to enforce their rights and seek redress.
