National Mineral Exploration Policy Unveiled 

Union minister of steel and mines Narendra singh Tomar unveiled the National Mineral Exploration Policy (NMEP) on 4 July 2016. It was unveiled to adopt comprehensive exploration of non fuel and non coal mineral resources.The policy was released at National conclave on mines and minerals at Raipur in Chhattisgarh. The new policy aims to bring together best of knowledge and experience, modern technology and trained manpower on a collaborative platform. The objective of the policy is to set in motion a massive process for mineral exploration of the country that would give a major boost to the economy.


MV Dhekane Takes Over as Director of IISU

"Noted scientist M V Dhekane has assumed the office of Director of ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. With this Dhekane becomes the seventh director of IISU which functions under the aegis of the Department of Space. IISU is a research and development (R&D) unit of the ISRO that functions under the aegis of Department of Space. It is located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Its specialized fields include inertial sensors and systems in satellite technology, fields of launch vehicle inertial systems, spacecraft inertial systems, inertial system production, inertial sensors evaluation and simulation, inertial systems electronic production, reliability and quality assurance and advanced inertial systems group."


Sudarshan Sen Takes Charge as new Executive Director at RBI

Sudarshan Sen has taken over as the new Executive Director at the Reserve Bank of India  (RBI) on 4 July. Sudarshan Sen holds an MBA degree in International Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He has rich experience as the central banker and has a long association with the RBI in the field of supervision and regulation. Earlier, he had served as in charge of the Department of Banking Regulation. He also had served as the Regional Director of Ahmedabad office of the RBI.


"Saudi Arabia Becomes Associate Member of ICC"

"Saudi Arabia was unanimously elected as the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) 39th Associate Member during its full council meeting in Edinburgh. The SCC’s application for Associate Membership had been pre-approved by the ICC development committee during its October 2015 meeting, which was followed by a full application and an ICC inspection in March 2016."
