Former Australia captain Mark Taylor resigned from Cricket Australia’s (CA) board of directors. Mark Taylor is 54 years old. He was the CA board’s longest-serving director. He has resigned amid the release of findings of Longstaff review that was commissioned following the Cape Town ball-tampering scandal.


Palau becomes first country to ban sunscreen to save coral reefs
The Western Pacific nation of Palau has become the first country to ban many kinds of sunscreen, in a move to protect its coral reefs from chemicals that scientists say cause significant damage.


India re-elected as member of ITU council till 2022
India elected as a member of the International Telecommunications Union-ITU Council for another four-year term from 2019 to 2022. The elections to the Council were held during the ongoing ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2018 at Dubai. India secured 165 votes and ranked third among the 13 countries elected to the council from the Asia-Australasia region, and eighth among the 48 countries elected to the council globally.

Written by author Krishna Trilok, the biography in association with Landmark and Penguin Random House was launched in Mumbai.


Rohit Sharma sets record, becomes first cricketer in history to score 4 T20I hundreds
He achieved the milestone in 58 balls during the second T20I against the Windies at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. He now has 2,196 runs in the format. He also overtook Virat Kohli (2,102 runs) to become India’s leading run-getter in T20Is, and ended up second on the list of the highest run-getters in the world, just behind New Zealand’s Martin Guptill.


07 November: National Cancer Awareness Day
National Cancer Awareness Day was observed on 7 November across the nation. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan had announced that 7 November will be observed as National Cancer Awareness Day every year. There were 2.9 million cases of cancer in the country with 1.1 million new cases being reported annually.
