Fitch predicts 7.3% growth rate of India in 2018-19
Credit rating agency Fitch has stated that India’s economic growth will accelerate to 7.3% in the current financial year (2018-19) and 7.5% in the next fiscal (2019-20).
RBI puts Dena Bank under prompt corrective action
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has put state-run lender Dena Bank under prompt corrective action (PCA) framework. It has barred Dena Bank from extending fresh credit in view of deteriorating financial health due to mounting non-performing assets (NPAs) and mounting losses. It makes Dena Bank first lender to face curbs on lending under PCA framework.
Indian judokas win 3 medals
Indian judokas won 3 medals on the opening day of Asian Cadet Judo Championships in Lebanon. Rohini S Mohite from Maharashtra won a gold medal in the 40kg category while Tababi Devi Thanjam of Manipur emerged as a champion in the 44kg category.
Former test cricketer Rajinder Pal passes away
Rajinder Pal, the former Delhi cricketer who represented India in one Test, passed away at his Dehradun residence. The right-arm fast bowler played his only Test against England in 1964 and was 80.
